Currie Road Reopens for Vehicles
Currie Road in Galashiels has reopened to vehicles following the installation of a new bridge deck over the road. The Borders Railway team will continue to work on the bridge, but this will not have an impact on traffic.
This is the second milestone achieved in Galashiels in the course of the last month, following the successful reopening of the public path over Redbridge Viaduct in mid-June.
Hugh Wark, Network Rail project director for Borders Railway, said:
“The completion of the Currie Road bridge is another landmark for the project in Galashiels. Construction along such a busy road is always a challenge, and I would like to thank residents for their patience during this time.”
