Off-Peak City Bypass Borders Railway Works
Network Rail, and its principal Borders Railway contractor, BAM, are to carry out essential off-peak maintenance works on the A720 at Sheriffhall on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 August following the construction of a new railway bridge under the road.
Activity will involve the updating of signage, the removal of some vegetation around existing signage and the installation of drainage covers.
The works will take place from 1930hrs until 0600hrs on both nights. One lane will be in operation in each direction during this time.
Hugh Wark, project director, Network Rail, said: “These routine overnight maintenance works will enable the team to carry out some essential snagging activity following the changeover of the road back to its original alignment. We expect the works to have minimal impact on motorists during this time.”
