Closure of Fountainhall Site Office Marks Final Phase of Construction

The first Borders Railway site office is to be closed, marking the countdown towards the project’s completion.

The Fountainhall site office opened to help service the construction of the Borders Railway and is now being dismantled.

Over the last two years, the site office, located near Catcune farm, has acted as a central hub for over 70 members of the project team who were charged with delivering the longest section of the new line between South of Gorebridge and South of Stow.

The site provided a base for Network Rail and BAM (the main Borders Railway contractor), as well as administration and finance teams, project directors, design coordinators, environmental experts and communications staff.

The project’s other site offices at Newtongrange and Galashiels will remain operational until later this year.
