Born in the Borders

With a number of fantastic restaurants, bars, and businesses, the new Borders Railway is an excellent opportunity for the borders region to showcase what it has to offer to the rest of the country, and further afield!

A great example of one of the regions thriving businesses is Born in the Borders, a converted farm steading situated on the banks of the River Teviot. After originally launching in 2011 as a brewery that uses barley grown on its Chester surrounding estate, the business has expanded and now consists of a tasteful gift shop, a farm shop/deli well stocked with local artisan produce and a wonderful café.

A perfect venue to enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family, customers can choose to enjoy either a 2-3 course meal (£25-30), or a six course meal (£50) put on by the chef David Malcolm’s talented kitchen.

With a variety of sophisticated dishes, paired with beer from the venues brewery, Born in the Borders is an impressive introduction to what’s blossoming down in Jedburgh and the rest of the borders!
