Borders Railway marks 1,000 Twitter followers!
This week, the Borders Railway team marked a different kind of milestone by welcoming its 1000th Twitter follower.
Since the @BordersRailway Twitter account first started around a year ago, the feed has kept its followers updated on progress along the line including key project milestones, road closures and the latest on-the-ground updates.
As the project moves closer towards its September 2015 opening, the Twitter feed will continue to act as a reliable and timely resource.
The Borders Railway website, which has received over 110,000 unique visitors in the last year from all corners of the world, will also continue to post regular updates and images from along the route.
Craig Bowman, Communications Manager, Network Rail, said “The appetite for news and updates from the Borders Railway is evident in the number of people following us on Twitter. We are committed to engaging with as many people as possible, and not just through Twitter. The public can also find out information on the project through our Newsletter, E-bulletin, and monthly Radio Borders updates. We also attend community events and host drop-ins on a regular basis. We encourage you to get in touch if you have any questions.”
