Eskbank - Dalkeith

To the south-west of Dalkeith, the new Eskbank station provides convenient access to Dalkeith Town Centre, Midlothian District Councils offices and Edinburgh and Newbattle Colleges.
A lively historic market town of some 12,000 population, Dalkeith is the seat of Midlothian Council and the main administrative centre for the district. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, Dalkeith is also home to Dalkeith Country Park where the newly refurbished Restoration Yard and Fort Douglas is forecast to attract 500,000 visitors in its first year.
Not content with being nominated as a finalist in this year’s prestigious Royal Town Planning Institute’s (RTPI) Awards for Planning Excellence for its work on the Dalkeith town centre heritage regeneration, the Midlothian Council have also embarked on an ambitious masterplanning exercise looking at development opportunities within the town centre
